Why Montessori

-For more than 100 years, the Montessori Method has been refined and developed through scientific observation of how children learn about their world. Modern neuroscience is discovering that this approach best meets the needs of a child’s growing brain: “It’s like education designed by a gifted pediatric neuropsychologist” (Dr Steve Hughes, PhD, LP, ABPdN Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and Neurology University of Minnesota Medical School)

-The materials that allow children to explore and discover concepts and ideas have been tested and refined in classrooms throughout the world.

-The mixed-age group in a Montessori classroom reflects authentic social groups with a multitude of benefits for each of the children; Younger children observe and learn from their elders, while older children experience the joy of being leaders and solidify their knowledge by sharing it with others.
